Title: CONVICT
Author: Hayley Faiman
Genre: Contemporary Romance
About Convict:
Guilty. ExCon. Felon. Prisoner. Criminal.Words that now represent me. Words that keep any decent person away from me. I never gave much thought to words before now. Slut. Hussy. Whore. Homewrecker. Jezebel.Words that now reflect me. Words that will stay indefinitely. The evidence of those words grow inside of me. Those Words make the entire town assume they are vindicated to use them. I am wrong. They are right.
I
should push him away. I should tell him to stop. I should do a lot of things. I
don’t do any of them. What I do is press my palms against his hard chest and
moan a little louder. Rylan’s fingers grip my hips and I wish they would move
lower, or higher. I wish they would roam all over my body. I know his rough
calloused fingers are going to feel amazing against my skin.
“Rylan,”
I breathe when he breaks the kiss slowly. He nibbles on my bottom lip, as
though he doesn’t want to pull away from me, and I don’t want him to. Not ever.
He
grunts. “I shouldn’t have done this.”
Lifting
my hands, I wrap them around his biceps, afraid he’s going to walk away from
me, afraid he’s going to turn around and leave. I didn’t think it was possible
to want a man I barely know. I want him, though. I want all of him, and I want
him now.
Looking
up at him, I blink a few times and inhale deeply before letting it out on a
sigh. “I shouldn’t either, but here we are. Don’t go,” I beg.
His
light brown eyes search my own. I don’t know what he sees in my gaze, but
whatever it is, he nods. He makes a decision, internally. He doesn’t voice it,
whatever it is, and I’m too nervous to ask him what it could be. I gasp when he
leans down, his face moving closer to mine and he nips my bottom lip.
“Promised
myself I wouldn’t touch you. Swore it, in fact,” he informs me.
I bite
my bottom lip, my eyes staying focused on his. “But?” I chance.
“I’m a
fucking liar,” he exhales. “A goddamn liar.” He wraps his arm around my thighs,
beneath my ass and picks my feet up off of the ground.
About the Author:
I was born and raised in a small farming town in California. I met my husband when I was 16 and he was 19. We married four years later and have two little boys! We lived in Oregon for a few years while he served in the US Coast Guard.
Texas is now where we call home, where our boots rest, and where we’re raising our two little boys and a chocolate lab named Optimus Prime.
I first noticed him in Lover’s Landing coffee house simply because he was a hot guy wearing a cowboy hat. But then… as I came back each morning for coffee, I started to notice he did the exact same routine, at the exact same time, every single day. I’ve determined from the coffee-to-go he orders, that his name is Holden. The other patrons, who are all locals of Love, Georgia, seem to know and understand whatever it is Holden does each morning. They leave him alone to his routine, and his table. Every single day.
Until this day. This Valentine’s Day that I decide to sit at his table and see where the fireworks go. And yes, he’s annoyed… but eventually he sits with me at his special table, because for some reason it’s that important to him. I know there are reasons behind the routine. This precise ritual. What or why, I have no idea, but finding out—now—seems like just the thing to do while I’m in Love.
Little do I expect, the journey into the why behind Holden’s routine also starts to become the why behind how deeply I start to care for him, and why I don’t want to leave Love. But the why is also the greatest obstacle to there ever being more than just morning coffee for us.
Today we’re celebrating the release of BREAKING THE SINNER, the fourth book in The Breaking Series, by Ember Leigh. Check it out and get your copy now!
About BREAKING THE SINNER
She picked the name Gen.
As an evangelical exile who fled her community only to land in LA, Genevieve couldn’t be greener. Armed with a list of experiences she’s eager to live, it serves as her compass in the choppy waters of normal society. Until she meets Cobra. There’s nothing normal about the resident gym bad boy who struts around like he could undress her with his eyes alone.
And he goes by Cobra.
Cobra knows better than to believe in blessings. Snagging this stable job at Holt Body Fitness is the only break of luck he’s had since his life took a nosedive as a teen, but it’s just a matter of time before this goes downhill too. Which is why when ultra-innocent Gen stumbles onto his bleak path, he’s eager for the distraction provided by the oblivious bombshell. He can help her live her list—but only so far. Because Cobra’s only good at being temporary.
They both have lives they left far behind them.
Setting three months to wade through Gen’s list of sins, the two of them plunge headfirst into something equals parts sizzling and intense. As Cobra inches nearer to securing his permanent spot at the gym, he comes even closer to a scary new reality. One that might be too good to be true. One that will force him to choose between the only family he’s ever known, and the one thing he swore to never need: love.
Ember Leigh has been writing erotic romance novels since she was far too young. A collection of twelve of J.S. Breukelaar’s darkest, finest stories with four new works, including the uncanny new novella “Ripples on a Blank Shore.” Introduction by award-winning author, Angela Slatter. Relish the gothic strangeness of “Union Falls,” the alien horror of “Rogues Bay 3013,” the heartbreaking dystopia of “Glow,” the weird mythos of “Ava Rune,” and others. This collection from the author of American Monster and the internationally acclaimed and Aurealis Award finalist, Aletheia, announces a new and powerful voice in fantastical fiction.
GUEST POST What attracts me most about writing horror? by J.S. Breukelaar
Lovecraft writes that “The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” I think that this is partly what attracts me to writing horror. If Lovecraft is saying that fear is the most humanizing of emotions, how does horror complicate this? I see fear as one of the most effective emotions not just to humanise ourselves, but to self-other ourselves and to me that’s the object of good fiction. Whatever I’m writing, I always ask what it is that my character or characters fear the most. Imagining what we might do if faced with the unimaginable, the unknown is at the heart of our fears. Many of us suspect and fear the possibilities of what fear might make us, even more than the fear itself. In other words, to turn Lovecraft’s opening gambit on its head, the oldest emotion of humanity is fear of how it might make us unknown and unknowable to ourselves. Because when the monster is destroyed and the fear is gone, when things return to some kind of normal, what then? Will we know ourselves ever again? And if not, can we live with being the other? Stephen Graham Jones talks about this: how in really weird horror, the story doesn’t end when the fear is gone, because wherever the characters find themselves back in the normal world: buying a hotdog, pushing a car in a supermarket, the fear of living inexorably alien to themselves will always be with them, othering and denaturing and then, what? This was the logic behind many of the stories in Collision, perhaps none more so than “War Wounds,” in which two friends act out their fear of losing each other on an innocent Other. The result is a monster: a real one, who is terrifying enough, but the real terror is what looks back at them, and you, from the mirror.

STROKE OF LUCK releases on February 19, 2019. Pre-order your copy today!
STROKE OF LUCK Synopsis:
He’s hoping to bury the past. She’s ready to settle the score.
The Sterling Ranch’s season opening isn’t going so smoothly. With the ranch’s lodge full of guests and a Montana blizzard threatening, Will Sterling needs help—and he needs it fast. So when his childhood friend Poppy Carmichael agrees to lend a hand, he’s grateful for a second chance…and more enticed by the woman she’s become than he cares to admit.
For Poppy, it was supposed to be a retreat full of horse rides and hoedowns—with a side of showing Will what he’s been missing all these years. But as the snow deepens outside, the guests’ suspicion and mistrust turn sinister inside, catching Will and Poppy in the crosshairs.
Weathering the storm in each other’s arms is all too easy for Will and Poppy, but will a confrontation with a killer mean their reunion is short-lived?
New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author B.J. Daniels starts her Sterling’s Ranch series off with a bang in this suspenseful story of romance and revenge.
She had touched the antler lamps and
admired the massive ranch kitchen with all its counter space. Even at twelve
and a tomboy, she had loved to cook. Back in the lounge, the well-worn leather
furniture had looked so comfortable that she hadn’t been able to help herself.
She’d plopped down in one of the chairs and was running her hands along the
warm smooth leather when Will Sterling had found her. She hadn’t thought anyone
was home and she’d been itching to see inside, so having never lacked courage,
she’d dared enter without permission.
“What do you think you’re doing?” he’d
demanded.
Startled, she’d struggled to get out of the
deep comfort of the chair. “I was just…” She had managed to get to her feet and
turned. The cutest cowboy she’d ever seen stole any words she might have said.
His longish brown hair under his Western hat was dusted with gold as if kissed
by the sun. His brown eyes were the color of sweet molasses.
Dressed in a Western shirt, jeans, boots
and a hat that looked a little too large for him, she’d fallen in love at that
exact instant.
“I need to get moving,” she told Kara. “I
promised to get up there in a couple of hours and I have to pack. I also want
to pick up some supplies.”
“Supplies? I would think they would have
those.”
Poppy chuckled. “Buckshot Brewster is their
usual camp cook. Apparently he broke his leg. To Buckshot, cuisine is a slab of
beef and a side of beans.”
Kara laughed. “Wait a minute. That cowboy
you were telling me about who you met when you were twelve—”
“Will Sterling, the man who just hired me.”
Her friend raised a brow in concern. “But I
thought he broke your heart.”
Poppy nodded. “Oh, he did.”
“Wait, I know that look. What are you
planning to do?”
She smiled, eyes narrowing. “If it’s true
that the way to a man’s heart is his stomach… Well, then, I plan to give him a
taste of his own medicine.”
“You wouldn’t.”
Oh, but she would.

When a midnight party brings them together, passion ignites and old wounds are opened. Grace sets down the ground rules for the next three weeks. No touching, no kissing, and if she has it her way, no breathing, because every breath he takes steals her ability to think. But Reed has other ideas…
**
The Corner of Heartbreak and Forever is a Sweet with Heat novel and conveys all of the passion you’d expect to find between two people in love without any graphic scenes or harsh language. If you’re looking for a more explicit romance, pick up the steamy edition, Embracing Her Heart, written by New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster. Addison Cole is Melissa’s sweet-romance pen name.
“Grace…” Even after a
decade her name tasted sinfully good rolling off his tongue.
Her hand slid from the
doorknob, hanging limply by her side. She opened her mouth to speak, but no
words came. A long moment later, “Reed,” slipped from her lips like the secret
he’d once been.
His gut clenched with
longing. He couldn’t help but study her—and that angered him as much as it
eased the worries about his ability to feel that had plagued
him for years. He hadn’t been all in with a woman since Grace, and he’d begun
to think he’d exaggerated what he’d felt when they were together. But there was
no misreading the heat thrumming through him. She looked incredible, and
confused, and as her hand settled on her hip—the hand he remembered all too
well digging into his back when they’d made love all those years ago—he
realized she also looked angry. Definitely angry.
But still incredible.
In the space of a breath
he was fighting the urge to figure out how to spend time with her and recapture
the fire between them despite everything she’d put him through.
“Are you done gawking?”
she snapped.
“I…Sorry. You caught me
off guard. I was expecting to see your parents.” He held her gaze, forcing a
smile even though he suddenly felt stuck somewhere between a teenager caught
peering through a window, a jealous ex-boyfriend, and a lust-filled man.
She folded her arms over
her chest, forcing a barrier between them, and smirked.
Ouch—
At least he hoped it was
a smirk rather than a scowl. After the clues he’d missed with his ex-girlfriend,
Alina, who had been sleeping with his now ex-business partner, he
no longer trusted his instincts where women were concerned. And when it came to
Grace Montgomery, he’d never been able to think past the emotions she stirred
within him and the future he’d hoped they’d have. She was the tsunami that had
obliterated everything else in his world, and as he struggled to find his
voice, he fought the urge to tangle his hands in her thick, lustrous hair and
remind her of what she’d walked away from.
“I hope you don’t look at
my mother like that,” she snapped.
“What? No. C’mon, Grace.”
In her eyes he was probably a quintessential jerk, checking her out without any
thought to their past. In reality, he’d been taken just as off guard by his
leering as she was. “I don’t usually—”
“Don’t usually let your
eyes wander?” She scoffed. “Right.”
“Believe it or not, yes,”
he said angrily. “Who do you think I’ve become? I didn’t expect you to walk out
here at all, much less wearing nearly nothing and…” He tried to figure out what
to say next, what to feel…
“Why are you here, Reed?”
He didn’t need this. Not
when he had just begun rebuilding his life. After being screwed over by Alina,
he’d vowed to stay away from anything that made his head spin, and Grace definitely made
his head spin.
He studied her, while
trying not to at the same time. The chip on her shoulder was bigger now,
overshadowing the sexy smirk on her lips. She’d always exuded confidence, but
somehow that, too, seemed more intense. His heart thumped harder with the
memory of the first time he’d spotted her standing on the sidelines in her cute
cheerleading uniform as he headed out to the football field. She’d challenged
him with her glare, as if she were playing on the rival team rather than
cheering for them. She’d hated that cheerleading outfit, but man, he’d loved
it. And that challenge she’d emitted? He’d taken her up on that in a hot
second.
But she’d kicked him to
the curb once, he reminded himself. Why was he giving her any consideration at
all? He had a job to do, and sure, he’d momentarily lost his footing and
checked her out, but it wasn’t like that was a crime. She was hot, and they had
history. That’s as far as it goes.

Genre: Sports Romance
About Only Work, No Play:
After two years of taking care of her heartbroken father, Evie needs a new start. Leaving the States and following her sister to Australia to work as the personal assistant of rugby star Xavier – The Beast – Stevens seems like the right kind of distraction.
Tall, muscled and devilishly handsome, Xavier is the lov’ em and leav’ em kind of guy. He never forgets a girl’s name because he never bothers to remember it in the first place.
Evie soon realizes that being Xavier’s assistant is a 24/7 job; the man seems unwilling to even set an alarm for himself.
As she watches him move from one woman to the next, Evie is glad that her heart is safe from his attention. After all, she’s a far cry from the size zero models he usually takes to his bed.
But soon being around Xavier doesn’t feel like a job, and seeing him walk around his apartment half naked all the time isn’t helping either. Evie knows that giving in to her attraction will lead to heartbreak, but when Xavier starts treating her as more than just his assistant, resisting his charms seems like an impossible task.
Cora Reilly is the author of the Born in Blood Mafia Series, The Camorra Chronicles and many other books, most of them featuring dangerously sexy bad boys. Before she found her passion in romance books, she was a traditionally published author of young adult literature.
Cora lives in Germany with a cute but crazy Bearded Collie, as well as the cute but crazy man at her side. When she doesn’t spend her days dreaming up sexy books, she plans her next travel adventure or cooks too spicy dishes from all over the world.
Despite her law degree, Cora prefers to talk books to laws any day.
When her nose isn’t buried in a book, or her fingers flying across a keyboard writing, she’s in the kitchen creating gourmet meals. You can find her, in four inch heels no less, in the car chauffeuring kids, or possibly with her husband scheduling his business trips. It’s a good thing her characters do what she says, because even her Labrador doesn’t listen to her…
