Midnight Marriage (Roxton Family Saga, #1)Midnight Marriage by Lucinda Brant
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I love historical romance novels, but I have to say that this one was kind of too ridiculous to be considered as a good book.

The book starts on the premises that a teenage girl is forced to secretly get married to another teenager at midnight. But on the next chapter she is already an adult and doesn’t remember anything about that midnight marriage. Unbelievable.

I also had troubles with the characters. I had a hard time trying to like them. So I didn’t. The main characters are too annoying: Deb is too overdramatic sometimes, and Julian is simply everything I don’t like in a man. Their actions were also kind of historically inaccurate; women going around with men without a chaperone? Unlikely to happen. And the incongruities go on and on. I won’t say more in order to avoid spoilers.

I was also shocked to find typos. It took me forever to finish the book, so I don’t think I will read more books belonging to this series.
